In OS 10.4 - a server icon could be placed in the dock to quickly logon. An icon also appeared on the desktop for easy access to files. In 10.5 I haven't found a way to do this. Folders from the server can be placed in the dock, but if you want quick access to all the files on the server a bunch of folders need to be placed in the dock. Is there a way to handle server icon/access "the old way" or is it a matter of getting used to the new OS? Thanks
This hasn't changed in 10.5. I have 3 servers in my Dock right now, and they are put there simply by dragging them to the right side of the dock just like you could in 10.4.
When I connect to the server I go to *+GO>Connect to server>+*once connected it takes me to a finder window with the server listed under shared items - nothing mounted on the desktop. I try to drag it to the dock and it doesn't stick (flies back to the window) and +Make An Alias+ is greyed out. When I go down one level those folders are able to be docked. Strange.
