My iPhone Won't Connect to Wi-Fi

My iphone won't seem to want to connect to WiFi and always defaults to Edge. I restarted it and I toggled off airplane mode but when I try to go to a page or open up iTunes buyer it turns to edge. Help?

iPhone, Other OS, It is awesome!

It definitely sounds like your phone is not getting an IP address assigned to it from the router. Get with a buddy who's wifi works and (assuming you have the wifi signal on the top of the phone) go into those pesky network settings and look for differences. The only difference should be in the first entry in the WIFI settings - the IP address. This cannot be the same on two machines. Everything else can.

Did you try selecting "Renew Lease" (assuming DHCP is in use)

Another helpful hint:
Add a DNS entry (205.171.3.65 works) - this will help in public and private wifi networks that give the iphone the wrong Domain Name Server address.
