Question

How do I set ADAT I/O in LP7

Hi eveyone moving from Pro Tools LE to LP7 have an 01V96, 002R and a mac mini. I connected the 01V96 to the Digi 002R via ADAT how do I access my ADAT I/Os in Logic. I must add in Pro Tools it was very easy all I get in logic are the Analog I/Os.

Kevin,

Check the manual for your 002 - the ADAT input will be assigned to specific output channels (probably 8 of them?). Pick up the inputs that correspond to them in your tracks / input objects and you're away.

Dave thank you still does not work. In Pro Tools I can just select ADAT outs it's that simple in LP7 there no way to do this I think it's very simple in Logic too it's just not there in black and white. It's not the 002 because my ADAT connection works fine with PTLE. I will just have to use built-in audio for LP7.

How many inuts do you see in Logic for your 002? You should see something like 18 inputs (8 analog, 2 s/pdif and 8 ADAT). The 8 ADAT inputs are 8 of those, probably 9 through 16 or 11 through 18.

Hey, I had the same problem you are having and my solution was simple. The ins/outs are not identified sometimes as ADAT at all on the I/O selection, but rather Analog1.......or Audio 1............instead. Have you tried recording something into Logic setting up the Adat transfer from your Pro Tools rig output? Once your sure that end of the transactions proper, simply use the Analog inputs as the according ADAT track #. I agree that this is horrible, and very poor in Logic's Design, but it should work anyway.

I forgot to mention, I use MOTU 2408mk and transfer from a Roland vs-2480 ADAT (2 banks of 8 channels) out into my G5 and Logic. Within the Motu P CI audio console software settings, it is CRITICAL that I set the audio to be routed as ADAT and not Analog, as the MOTU can transfer both. So, make sure the Pro tool Outs are set accordingly.
