Deleting Unused Audio Files

How do I clear from the project and delete from my hard drive all audio files that are not used in the arrange? I've tried using the project "clean-up" function, but that doesn't get rid of the files that aren't being used in the arrange. I've also tried using the Project Manager to identify which files are still in the project that aren't being used so I could delete them, but I guess I just can't figure out how to do it. I would love some advice. Thanks!

Hi David

Yep, that's true, when you save your song as a project you get different options that ask you if you want to split up unused audio files from the used ones.

Also, when I'm in the Audio Window (Apple9), it's possible to select all unused files, press backspace and delete. When the song's saved, any unused files are placed in the Unused audio folder of the project. Emptying the trash (within Logic, not from Finder) after this also helps.

When you do save as a project, be careful to consider the avialable options - copying and organising all of the Instruments and their associated samples into the project folder can be handy for live gigging, but very big on duplication of HD space.

Good luck

Gareth
