Waveburner cannot write ISRC Codes!!

Question

Waveburner cannot write ISRC Codes!!

I checked this out with a german program named feurio! Waveburner is not able to write ISRC Codes on a CD. I also got a mistake report from Sony, Austria! Who has similar experience. I use DVD 107D Pioneer which is the build in burner on my G5 Computer. The burner is proofed to be able to write ISRC CODES!!

This is a little scary; I've sent out a couple CDs to the pressing plant assuming the ISRC codes were cool. Can you tell me more about feurio, or any other means of checking those codes? I'll try to figure out whether I'm making the codes or not...

But its only for pc!
I do not know a program for mac which can read isrc codes!!

Hi Guys,

I'm running a G4 with a SCSI card and Waveburner/Logic Pro 7.1 so I'd like to know which recorders support CD Text writing. My core function is mastering so I need to find a recorder that will record ISRC codes and other info. I cannot believe that Apple sell hardware that doesn't work with their software and vice versa!
Any help greatly appreciated

AKAIK the only app (pro or otherwise) currently available on the Mac that can write ISRC codes is Roxio Jam. Although I've heard that the (ridiculously overpriced) Peak 5 update may be ISRC capable too.

I downloaded Feurio and am going to do some experiments. How do you see whether or where there's ISRC codes for a disc? I see that it can be scanned for, but that's it...

Hi, Bernhard and fellow sufferers:

I think Feurio isn't the greatest reader of ISRC codes. Put in a few discs (commercial discs; Pat Metheny, Backstreet Boys, etc.) and hit the "Read UPC & ISRC" command; usually the first time nothing happens. Do it one or two more times and it pulls up an ISRC for one tune only, the 10th or 13th, etc. I'm going to try to figure out another way to do it (I have Jam, might see how that reads). If you've done other testing, please post (are you sure your PC CD drive can read ISRC?)

I've figured this out: Waveburner does indeed write ISRC codes. My internal CD-RW drive in the PC I was using to look at this with Feurio is obviously not ISRC-capable or is somewhat flaky (I've never had a problem with it, but...). I plugged in my external DVD drive, burned a DVD with Waveburner (including some ISRC codes I had lying around), put it in the external DVD drive and the ISRC codes came right up. I suspect that maybe Bernhard's PC drive might be the problem as well...
