Penryn or Santa Rosa

How can I tell if my MacBook Pro has a Penryn or Santa Rosa processor? I actually know it is a Penryn but was wondering if there is something in system profiler that indicates this.

Those are just code names.

You can tell in System Profiler. Santa Rosa models have a model identifier of MacBookPro3,x whereas Penryn models are MacBookPro4,x.

Just for the sake of completeness for anyone else reading this thread, the pre-Santa Rosa C2D's (2.16/2.33 GHz clocks) are MacBookPro2,x, and the original Core Duo MBPs are MacBookPro1,x.

The "x" varies with specific machine (so, the very first 15" CD MBPs were MacBookPro1,1 whereas my 17" CD MBP is MacBookPro1,2).
