can you make iphone ringtones longer than 30 seconds

The maximum ringtone length depends on how you create your ringtones.

If you purchase a ringtone from the iTunes Store:

Personalize your ringtone by choosing up to 30 seconds of your favorite song with the easy-to-use iTunes ringtone editor.

If you create a ringtone in GarageBand 4.1.1:

Set up a cycle region that covers the area you wish to use in the GarageBand song. Note: This area must be 40 seconds or less in length.

I have dun it, just edit the ringtone with "Garage Band" and then just click on "Share" and then "Share ringtone with iTunes" and that's it, a have several with 38 seconds, 32, 39, 35, etc

You could use iToner, that is about $25 so depending on how many tones you want to make may be worth a buy. You can also get a demo (30 days) its good and easy to use. Try to get all your chosen ringtones converted in the demo period :0)

I have actually converted a few songs and it is the whole song as the ringtone, not a 20/30/40 second clip of it; I set my alarm and listen to the whole song when I wake up in the morning, its great and much better than a repeating tone!
