I got this response from Korg today

The Kontrol 49 and Logic 7 work with a new protocol called native mode.
Native mode automatically recognizes the Kontrol 49 and maps the CC# to
the controller for you no need for editor anymore.
Now Logic has written the Native Mode to control Faders, Pans and
Transport controls, if you want to over ride this and use the editor and
manual assign the CC# then you will disengage the Native Mode by
pressing the Setting button, The Message button, Scene Button and Exit
at the same time that will disengage. Then you can go to
Preferences/Control Surfaces and rescan devices in Logic to re-engage
Native Mode.

Thank You,

Elijah
