IOAudiostream issue

Hi.

I have the following very annoying problem:

When I start playing World of Warcraft in Tiger, my system starts to stutter (it freezes for 1 second etc, then keeps going). When playing over ethernet, these little freezes will eventually kill my whole internet connection so I have to restart or put my macbook to sleep. When using airport, the system stutters, I often loose the wireless signal, but the connection is re-established within seconds.

I then started to look through my logs and every time I get this system-stutter I get log entries like:

"May 25 18:35:33 xxx-Computer kernel[0]: IOAudioStream0x3fa8f00::clipIfNecessary() - Error: attempting to clip to a position more than one buffer ahead of last clip position (2029,4ff)->(202c,16fc).
May 25 18:35:33 xxx-Computer kernel[0]: IOAudioStream0x3fa8f00::clipIfNecessary() - adjusting clipped position to (202c,4ff)
May 25 18:38:13 xxx-Computer kernel[0]: IOAudioStream0x3fa8f00::clipIfNecessary() - Error: attempting to clip to a position more than one buffer ahead of last clip position (2387,1472)->(238a,1dd).
May 25 18:38:13 xxx-Computer kernel[0]: IOAudioStream0x3fa8f00::clipIfNecessary() - adjusting clipped position to (2389,1472)".

I only get these IOAudiostream log entries when playing World of Warcraft (all audio-settings are off and there is nothing else running (no iTunes or sth)).

Does anybody have an idea what is wrong or how to fix that? It started just recently, and World of Warcraft was running flawless before.

I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Hi!

Would like to just "chime" in and express the same issue, however a little different.

My issue is with iTunes.

I get lots of kernel[0]: IOAudioStream0x3fa8f00::clipIfNecessary() - Error: attempting to clip .....
I feel like I'm on a 486 trying to play audio files and a game.

This is what I have determined from testing: (On the the latest update 10.5.4)

1. When playing music and surfing. Scrolling the page occasionally causes the issue.
2. When playing music and loading windows. For some reason this seems to be attached to the window manager, as new windows or refreshing sometimes creates this issue.
3. This error seems to lead-up to a complete freeze with the Grey Screen of death. I have duplicated this once by playing music in iTunes, connecting both by iPhone and Touch, loading up Xcode and safari. The kernel just appears to get fed up and crash the machine.

I haven't tried re-installing the os as I am in SE-Asia and have limited access to the internet to download the updates.

Overall I don't feel all that great about my intel machine and sometimes wish for my PPC-Powerbook. I have had the screen replaced because of 20+ dead pixels, the CD/DVD drive replaced because of errors burning and reading, and the entire OS re-installed because of "corruption".

Now I have this Kernel error (sounds like a healthy error...sarcasm) and the all prevalent battery shutdown at 70%.
I am about 2 inches from throwing this computer through the window of an office at 1 Infinite loop....

Am I and VersaLife the only ones with this audio clip error?
