Fireface 800

Hi Guys,
I need Help, I just got a new Fireface 800, installed the drivers an the firmware 2.04 but the FF800 disconnects and connects constantly after a few seconds.
Can somebody give some assistance or guide me please.
I already tried RME forum with no success

1st, when you say it disconnects, what do you mean?
2nd, how is it connected to your computer? (FW800, 400?),
what kind of computer?

I'm guessing FW 400 to your PB?

Be sure to also update the frimare of the unit with the fut macfire download. You need 2 updates.

Have you tried another FW cable?

Is your port working fine (with other units)?

Is it a new unit, has it worked before?

Hi,

I tried a few different firewire cables and nothing.
I download the firmwire update 2.04 and nothing.
Should I reinstall the osx? I might lose some files or something by mistake.
What do tou mean by 2 updates?
is a brand new machine.

The FF800 is connected to the laptop via firewire 400.
I'm using a powerbook 1.67 mhz with 2 gb of ram

What do tou mean by 2 updates?

There are drivers and there is a flash update for the unit itself.

Download and install the driver
Download and run the flash (firmare) updater.
The two must be of the same generation for the unit to connect.

It's the top two under OS X.

Sorry if you have done this already, it's just what cured my (very few) problems.

I Reinstalled tiger and connected the FF800 via firewire 800 as you suggested and everything works fine. Sorry for the panic.
Now is working stable but I have a couple of questions.
what are the usual setting of the FF800 I just have a 2 keyboards connected
Virus is connected to the inputs 1 and 2 of the FF800 the second keyboard is connected to the inputs 3 and 4 of the FF800.
The powered monitors are connected to the outputs 1 and 2 of the ff800.
How to control de main volume via the volume know on the ff800?
is there a preset in the ff800 tha controles this I already try preset 2.
sorry for my ignorance i was used to work with the 01x before

All you had to is repair permissions and zap PRAM ...sorry I got here to late....

Hi

to adjust the outputsfrom ff800 to your speakers, use the FF mixer app that should be rumming and in your doc now automatically when you start-up
There is another app below it for your internall ff800 settings.
