Hi, I'm worriend about my mouse behavior after installing 10.5.3. The cursor moves in a "jumpy" way. It's not smooth so using the mouse ids very painful now. Do you know what might be a problem? After installing the update I repaired my permissions (as usual). My mouse is connected to my keyboard connected to my Cinema Display. Perhaps I should reset my mouse preferences somehow? Please help.
I have the same problems with the mouse cursor jumping back suddenly and I have the problem with a bluetooth mouse and also with a usb mouse. Also, I have made a PRAM reset. It seems the situation improved, but the problem is still there anyway. I didn't have the problem with 10.5.2.
My corded Mighty Mouse was acting weird on scrolling after the 10.5.3 update. I got
lucky and found and fixed the problem by going to System Preferences/Universal
Access changing Zoom from ON to OFF. I don't recall ever turning Zoom ON but
turning it OFF helped. Try it .... the price is right
I am also having a small problem with my mouse after the u[date. I am using an iMac G5. I have both a USB and wireless Might Mouse and the update has affected the scrolling. Both mouses stopped scrolling up although scrolling down is no problem. I know they sometimes get dirty but they both stopped scrolling up at the same time and cleaning them didn't help. Anyone else with this not so critical but troublesome problem?
You may have picked up a settings glitch with the update. Too bad OSX does
not have a mouse.plist file you could trash. I just noticed something called
com.apple.driver.AppleHIDMouse.plist
and wonder if it contains your mouse settings. If mine mouse was acting
like you said, I would remove the above plist, restart and reset up the
mouse System Preferences.
