Thank you Apple...for wasting more than 6 hours of my time trying to watch videos in safari using quicktime player. I only see a white screen with a blue Q in it and that's it. I tried all the help I could find in the forum, e.g. removing QuickTime Plugin.webplugin from the library/Internet plug-ins folder and com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist from the Library/Preference folder. And you call it the bester browser in the world? Did you ever have a look at the forum and saw how many people have problems with safari and quicktime for example?
Sorry for being a bit rude but I have this problem since I have my Mac and I am really disappointed that I have this problem for such a long time. Even on my Windows PC I had this problem with the Quicktime player in Firefox or IExplorer but I switched to the media player with that the streaming worked without ANY problem.
I could view the "QuickTime" version in Safari but the data rate of the file and the Flash media format "controller" created numerous issues during playback.
Even when selecting the "dial-up" version the media player embedded in the page could not serve the file as fast as needed for good viewing.
Internet speed seems to be a bigger obstacle than QuickTime, Safari or the browser plug-in.
Germany has very fast connection speeds. You in Australia and me in the States means some "latency" issues are cropping up. These are not QuickTime problems.
But why doesn't the video even start on my MAC and why can I play the same video with a Windows PC and MS media player without any problem? Also, I have the VLC plug-in installed on my MAC and with this the video works as well. I have these problems only with the Quicktime plug-in as I just see a white screen with the blue Q in it and a moving bar below it. And it stays like this forever.
