using (cheap noname) digital still camera as web-/live-cam with skype
Hi all,
I recently bought a cheap noname digital still camera which also has the capability to be a live/webcam to use with messengers (I tried it, it worked with WinXP in VirtualPC - just veeeery sloooow). After a while I even found drivers for MacOSX.4 (by the product ID 0x905c in the profiler under USB) and installed it. I also dropped the 905c.component file into /Library/Quicktime as advised. After all that, I am able to get the photos from the cam into iPhoto.
Now, I am trying to use the cam with Skype and that's the point where I start struggling. When I open Skype and enter the webcam settings and activate webcam usage, the camera indicates a connection (some movements in the little LCD display). But in Skype, it reports "no camera found" (or something similar - it's in german).
I also tried to use Macam - but nothing happens there at all.
Any advice, ideas??
