I cannot get my MacBookPro to work with my HP OfficeJet K80xi. I was using a HP OfficeJet V40
in my southern home, and have come north to a different printer...and cannot make it work despite changing the driver.
What printer driver are you using? Are you printing over wireless or wired network or direct connection? Is the connection USB? Have you tried resetting the Print system and then re-adding the printer?
Thanks for trying to help. I am using the driver identified in my computer as appropriate. Yes I am using a USB connection and I continue to try to reset the printer. I have re-added the printer and still no luck. I am so frustrated. It was so easy when I loaded the DeskJet V40 in Florida. I did not even have to do a thing but add the USB cable. I hit print, it searched, found. and printed.
I'm not familiar with that printer so I can't offer much help beyond what I've suggested and what you've already tried. In theory it should work with the CUPS driver included with OS X. However, on the off chance there is a problem with that driver, you might try installing the latest Gutenprint drivers - Gutenprint 5.1.7.
