Same problem here -- will cause HUGE problems for my studio. I made several JPGs into TIFs and as soon as I save them, they corrupt. Error message says it is not a valid TIF file and InDesign says it is missing a translator to use the file.
I've tried saving with and without layers, compressed and uncompressed to no avail. Will have to try to save to local desktop until a fix is available.
HELP. Am at my wits end. I wish I had never upgraded to Leopard -- nothing but CS3 problems and huge amount of tech bills.
Computers: Core Duo, various models, all running Leopard from UPGRADE
Server: Apple Server, running 10.3.9
Software: CS3 / InDesign and Photoshop
Error Messages (Files and Images on Server):
*When Importing Corrupted Image into InDesign:*
"Cannot place this file. No filter found for requested operation."
"Error encountered while reading image. Image may be damaged or incompatible. Resave the image with different settings and try again."
*When Trying to Open Image in Photoshop:*
"Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop."
Same problem at our studio. For now we are all working off our individual desktops. Huge pain. We lost quite a few files the first day this started happening.
I wonder who's gonna fix this? Apple or Adobe? Whoever it is please hurry.
Has anyone found a way to repair one of these corrupt files?
Oh my god! This is a HUGE issue!! My business is completely hindered because of this?! Who in a business runs there files on each individual computer?! Is there a way to roll back to 10.5.2? Is that possible?!
If you used time machine you may still have a 10.5.2 backup on it. When you boot into the leo dvd to restore the time machine backup it will tell you what OS version is available for restore.
If you don't have a time machine backup, then you will have to do an "archive and Install" back to 10.5.0 and then reapply 10.5.2 combo.

P.S.
Remember: "Always back it up before you blow it up."
Well i dont gotta time machine, but, is there any word on when this will be fixed? I'm sure not just us here in the discussion boards are having this problem.
Same issue here. I've bought a new Mac and was straight on 10.5.3. Didn't know if it was a Photoshop or OSX error until coming on here.
I always have to remember to do a Save As.... been caught out a few times today after retouching an image and then just hitting save and corrupting the file!!
I know! It's WAY too hard to remember to do a 'Save As...' its programmed into your head to just hit 'Apple-S' to save your work! PLEASE HELP US APPLE......your our only hope.....
Looks like we have the same problems here. Only on one machine so far, but I suspect it will happen on a few others. Saving photoshop as PSD to an XServe file server. We've swapped out RAM, reinstalled CS3, run all of the utilities with the same crippling results.
Specs:Dul Core Xeon, 6GBs RAM, OS 10.5.3.
I was shocked to see that this was a rampant issue. Apple/Adobe... please!
