Help, I Can't Open My MacBook Pro!

I can't open my new MacBook Pro. Is there a latch? I'm afraid of wrecking something by pulling or pushing.

Mac Mini, Mac OS X (10.4.7)

it has been 6 weeks since you first posted about not being able to open your macbook pro. I guess we can assume you have resolved this since you are not any longer replying to the many posters trying to help you.

It might be a joke.

I just thought maybe it was an inexperienced mac user. Perhaps he/she is too embarrassed to come back?
