Apogee Duet popup not working, Maestro not starting automatically
I recently had a Apogee Duet working with Leopard 10.5.2, it started presenting issues that where corrected as soon as I installed the may 2008 Apogee Duet update. But now I upgraded to 10.5.3 and all of a sudden my apogee popups which I use a lot where gone and Maestro doesn't start as soon as I connect the Duet. I have to manually start Maestro every time. I already tried to uninstall and install the software again with no luck and the apple firewire audio drive that comes with the may 2008 apogee update says it cannot be installed in Leopard 10.5.3
Is there any fixing to this or is this yet another issue from apogee or maybe apple?
I will appreciate any help. Thank You

I guess this means a big crash in my pop-ups which was not supposed to happen after the may 2008 update right?
Also did that and it got me nothing... I used the CD and also an uninstaller that can be found on apogees support page. I am still working but this popup crash is really annoying me and it is also easier to see volumes and stuff on the popup image. BEsides this is a bug and it should be fixed.
Apogee still nothing... I thought I would have an official answer by now, at least a stupid one, but to have nothing is really worse.
the general rule is that there is no stupid question... and yes I checked the preferences... they are ok. Apogee is starting to look at my issue, I will keep you posted in case anyone else runs into this problem.
Similar problems for me.
Just installed my brand new duet yesterday. Worked for about 15 minutes and then....
After I install duet, it seems to work fine for a while. if the computer is restarted or is left awhile, the system goes back to the internal speaker on the Mac. When I try to open system preferences and re select the duet, it is not recognized and appears no where on the list.
When I open Maestro then, the Control and Mixer windows open, but there is nothing in the Control window and all options in the mixer window are grayed out.
The Duet May installer update gives a warning that the firewire driver will not install on mac 10.5.3 version or greater.
I just threw away my Firebox interface and spent 500 bucks on this brand new duet. This is VERY frustrating. Almost makes me want to start looking at windows machines.
I actually bailed out of the PC world because I was so sick of fighting my computer & hardware while trying to make music.
OSX 10.5.3, Logic 8.03 and the Duet (w 1.7 drivers) has been the most stable environment I have ever had. I'm not sure what to suggest you try at this point. I suppose I would uninstall everything Duet-related and make sure the system works with the built-in audio then re-install & test.
Not very helpful but..... Apogee tech support is pretty good. Good luck!
Thanks for your comments. I also emailed apogee tech support this morning. I got sick of all that crap with PCs as well, which is why I am so frustrated and surprised at this bump in the road with my brand new and expensive mac. The reason I selected the duet was the overwhelming positive responses I saw in the apple forums when I was researching why my firebox wouldn't work.
