Vista Ultimate SP1; everything working fine; used PC Pit Stop to optimize PC removing Temp files and a couple of start-ups that were memory hogs. After this when attempting to purchase a song or album in iTunes (latest QT/iTunes for Windows installed), the store would not authorize the purchase reporting internal store error code 1008. I have tried purchasing with no firewall or virus programs running, minimal apps open, etc. I reinstalled iTunes and QT separately; Kaspersky Internet Security is configured to allow access by iTunes; Apple Support response said erase Downloads Folder in iTunes\iTunes Music\Downloads except I have no Downloads folder in iTunes Music--only the albums and artist folders with songs. Any thoughts please. Thanks
Same problem here... I don't have the downloads folder in my Itunes folders.
I am trying to complete my album and i get the following messages when i click on "buy":
Warning, your remaining song credits may not be sufficient... I click on "get"
It is accessing...
Then I get the error: We could not complete your Itunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (1008). There was an error in the Itunes Store. Please try again later.
The purchase does not show up in recent purchases... and I have tried many times. No issue with other downloads.
I had some pending song credits that seemed to get in the way of purchasing the album. As soon as I burned through the song credits, I was able to purchase an album without the "1008" error message. Not sure if it's OS related or not, but I have Vista with SP1.
It looks like PC Pit stop may have removed an important iTunes file. Is there a restore option in that program? If so I would give it a whirl, and would also try uninstalling PC Pit as well.
