At least in Europe, Bruce Springsteen's "Devils and Dust" album is sold as an audio CD + DVD package, which frankly makes a lot more sense than putting a shoddy DualDisc together that won't rip on many computers and won't even play in many consumer CD players.
I've imported hundreds of my CDs into my iTunes application without any problems whatsoever. For some reason, though, my iMac seems to reject the mounting of DualDisc CDs. It has rejected a Ben Folds and a Bruce Springsteen CD. Are there any workarounds for this issue?

I'm afraid if these non-standard discs won't mount, there is nothing you can do apart from ripping them on another computer. Although DualDiscs are non-standard, this problem unfortunately seems to affect Macs much more than PCs. If you have access to a PC at work, etc., then I would consider taking a blank CD-R with you and ripping/copying (making sure you can legally do this, of course) the audio portion of the DualDisc so you can then rip the burned CD-R on your Mac.

Rick,
Here's an article that discusses the technical aspects of the DualDisc, and how it differs from a true CD.
Also, all the DualDiscs I've seen all say pretty plainly on them that they won't play on some drives. So it's not like the manufacturers of these discs don't know there's a problem.
An Internet search turns up quite a number of people complaining that their regular CD players won't play the audio side. Some car players have problems, some high end CD components, too.

Thanks for that info. I suspected something was up with those discs. I'll avoid them in the future.
