non-apple charger ok?

1.) using the Jawbone 2.0 will not shorten the battery charge time and it would probably not be safe to use a different USB power adapter with higher power, as this might disrupt the battery's natural function.

I agreed with your comments, I am no trying to against other products, but there are plenty cases here in Asia, the non brand name ac chargers causing lot of problems when charging the iPods.

I just bought the following A/C iTouch charger for just over $4 including shipping.

According to the plug, it's rated at 5V 500mA+/-5%. I plugged it in and it seems to do fine. I only intend to use it while traveling.

Anyone wanting to comment on the output voltage in regards to my iTouch would be appreciated. If it's OK, I'll probably use it more often.

The only downside that I see is whether it "shuts" off automatically after a full charge. If not, will that damage my iTouch?

The second risk is would your iPod covered by warranty when the iPod is being charged by an non apple ac charger? I am not sure about it but worth a read of the term of the warranty

Current is taken by the item using it. Current is not "pushed" to the item.
An iPod (or any device) will not draw more current than it needs unless it is faulty.

Using either adapter will work fine.

If you use an adapter with an item that requires more current than it can supply, the adapter could burn out.
With USB, the item should talk (via USB) the adapter and tell it what current it needs. If the appropriate current cannot be supplied, the adapter simply won't work.

If you plug an iPod into a low power USB port, it will not charge but it will still sync as long as there is enough battery.
