Belkin USB Hub, Disconnects Randomly

Hi all, I have a Macbook and a Belkin USB hub that is always disconnecting, and with having two external HDD's and an iPod (plus, keyboard and mouse) on it, and it disconnecting sometimes twice a minute, is frustrating, and very unproductive.

The USB hub is this one:

and my Mac is stock except 2gb of ram.

Is there something I can do, reset something, or anything to try and fix this problem, it is beyond getting on my nerves.

Thank you much,

Miles

Hi

If you're connecting using Wireless then welcome to the club. It appears that many people (including me) are having problem retaining a wireless connection in both Tiger and Leopard. The brand of wireless router/hub doesn't appear to be relevant. There are numerous suggestions for fixes, but I've tried them all (I think) and none of them have worked for me, so now I'm reduced to connecting via a cable.

Hi Miles, did you ever solve this? I just bought the same 7 port hub, and nothing (printer, scanner, drive) I connect to it is visible by my iMac (intel, Leopard) - my problem is not even intermittent; it never works. I tried plugging the hub into an unfiltered wall outlet (bypassing my ups), no luck. All the peripherals work fine if I plug them into the back of my iMac, so it's a hub issue. Problem is, there aren't enough USB ports on the iMac.
