File Compression takes too long

File Compression takes too long

Hi all,

I have a folder containing some matlab programs (around 200 of them), the file size is 4.6 MB. When I try to compress this folder (ctrl - click and use the default compression software), the compression never ends. I logged out of my account and re-logged in to see if it will help. But, it did not help. It happens only with this folder.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

What happens if you take half of them and put them in a separate folder? Can you then zip either or both folders? I'm wondering if there is a bad file in the batch that is causing the compressor to choke.

Only one folder is not compressing.

Yes, I can split the folder into half and zip each separately. That solves the problem in a way, but nevertheless I am still curious as to why the whole folder wont zip.

Can you compress any files, or is it just those that give you a problem?
