shake motion effect

Is there a way to add a shake motion effect in final cut express. Like if I had a video clip with a widescreen effect (letterbox) and I wanted to make that video clip shake or move in a type of motion without moving the letterbox around. I think in Sony Vegas or After Effects its called Shake Effect. Thanks!

There is an Earthquake filter in version 4.

thank you but if i were to have the earthquake effect and the widescreen effect put together. could i be able to have the earthquake effect only effect the video clip and not the widescreen. how.

Not sure I fully understand the question but...
Any filter(s) added to an individual clip, will only effect that specific clip.
In short you'll need two of the same clip, one overlaying the other.

Hi(Bonjour)!

Each filters of a stack for a clip is applied from bottom to top order. But the earthquake filter affects the position of the clip. Instead of letter box filter, I suggest to apply a 16:9 black matte on V2, or for the sequence itself.
