Safari will not let me login to facebook.

I've had this problem for a while now, and every time I try to login to facebook, I get this error message:

Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page “ https://login.facebook.com/login.php” because it couldn’t establish a secure connection to the server “login.facebook.com”.

I can access every other part of facebook besides logging in. My firewall is not on, I've tried other web browsers: Firefox, Camino, and sea monkey, but I still get the same error message of some sort. What do I do? Safari loads every other paige besides this.

Okay, I have a solution!

Besides the good practice of not using the Admin account for day-to-day use, I had enabled Parental Controls on my account for use as an improvised content filter (there are some things I just don't want to see)

Around the same time that I imposed these controls, I found my access to Facebook (as well as me.com and some other https websites) to be sporadic. Upon a lengthy thrashing-about in the account settings, I found that the Admins didn't have the problem, and thought there might be some permissions thing going on. That was debunked by my good friend, who happened to be an old-school Macintosh power user.

Upon reading this thread, I did one thing: I put the website "https://www.facebook.com" into the Always Allowed category in the Parental Controls internet content section. Now I have no problems logging into Facebook.

So, recap, there was a permissions thing going on ... the 10.5.4 or 10.5.2 update must have put in a restriction on using https sites ... I can not begin to imagine what the devs must have been on to make a call like that! If any devs read this, take note ... FIX THIS! I should not have to emphasize the importance of https sites in the average internet surfer's daily life!
