iDisk - can't find some files; how can I search it?

I hope this is the correct place to post; I don't find a separate iDisk or .mac category.

I want to remove old files from my iDisk, but can't find them, and can't figure out how to do a search on the iDisk.

The details:

I sometimes send large files to others by sending people to a certain page of my website on .mac, where I have hyperlinked to a zipped file on my hard drive. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think when I publish my site, this zipped file is uploaded to my iDisk, and people download it from there when they click on the hyperlink .

I don't want to leave those files on my iDisk forever, but I cannot find them anywhere on the iDisk. Nor can I find any way to do a search on my iDisk. Can't find anything in Help about it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The dot-Mac forums are located on the main Discussions page, down the left side, first item under Digital Life. There's a whole passel of sub-forums.

To open your iDisk, use the iDisk Utility app in the Utilities sub-folder of your Applications folder. It should show you a "normal" type Finder window, but with all the files and folders on your iDisk. It will look much like your home folder.

Note that the response may be quite slow, even on a "fast" internet connection. Also there are a number of things there that Apple, not you put there -- so don't delete anything that you aren't sure are yours.

Finally, delete works differently on your iDisk -- there's no "trash" folder, and it's quite slow.

My apologies for posting in the wrong place... I looked right down the list and right over it somehow.

I do not find an iDisk utility in the Utilities folder. I wonder if perhaps it was discontinued in Leopard, now that iDisk is easily accessed from the sidebar of any Finder window?

In any case, I can see my iDisk files via the Finder window at iDisk : Web : Sites : (website name). Problem is, I cannot find the zipped files I want to delete (the ones I hyperlinked to, on my site, so that others could automatically download them when they clicked on the link).

Could it be that others were actually downloading the files from my computer (like a .mac-facilitated peer-to-peer), meaning they were never uploaded to my iDisk at all? (That would seem strange to me.) I can't find any logical place where they might be hidden, nor do I know of any way to search on the iDisk.

If you have any more clues, great; otherwise I'll be happy to post this in the correct place (apologies again).

Thanks
