VERY COOL: the web app for review & approve

OK, so I think I figured out the problem, a bad command line along the way. However in the process, somehow I managed to delete my media folder (I really have no idea how). I tried to reinstall the whole thing by deleting the the review file and recreating it. however every time I enter into the command line to recreate the review folder with all programs in it, it keeps coming back without the media folder... any one know why this is or how I can more completely unload this application?

I don't quite follow you - you mean you run the cpio command and you don't end up with a media folder?

I dragged this out and got it running 2 weeks ago with surprising ease on a 10.5.6 machine (the only thing I had to do which wasn't documented was install the developer tools - there are some ruby headers in there that are required)

I figured out my missing media folder problem. However I am still not getting anything to transfer out of the catche folders. looking through the logs I did find this.

Unable to open XML file

Every thing else seems to be working. Files are being converted and put into their proper cache files, but nothing put into the l_clips or s_clips or thumbs.

any help would be most appreciated.

I tried typing in the path into terminal /Volumes/MLab Xsan01/fcsvr/review/script/fcsvr/addasset.rb -t "[Title]"

but I all I get is unable to read xml, which is the same error from the logs in fcs. There is however a xml there for it to read so I am unsure what the problem is.

I guess the next question is can you read the xml? What are the permissions on the file and the enclosing folder? does the xml actually look valid?

And ... I assume where you say "Title" you mean the actual title of the clip, and that the XML has exactly the same title?

OK Yes that was really stupid of me. I didn't realize that I had to name the clips individually, I thought that typing "Title" would work like a production scan with a [0] as its name and just use the title given.

So now my next question is, how can you get this thing to send all files to web without having to go in and manually name the clip you want to send in the command line.

Hi I have set up the excellent application and have it working. I have started to fiddle with it and I was wondering if any one knew of a way to get the video transcode for iphone to work with this. That way and editor can check the online site watch the video and maybe leave a comment.
