Making a Belkin DVI-KVM Switch work w/iMic?

I have an Intel Mac Mini and a PPC Mac Mini that I want to link to the same monitor, keyboard, and mouse so I purchased the DVI-KVM Switch by Belkin.

Problem: I can't think of how to get the switch to work with the macs and an iMic that links the Mac to my Sony tabletop radio.

Belkin Switch consists of: the main switch with usb port for keyboard, usb port for mouse, DVI port for the monitor, port for power adapter, port for the Belkin Flip button, headphone port. From this switch are hardwired two cables that each end in a dvi connector, a usb connector, and a headphone jack.
(Sorry if I'm not getting the technical terms right.)

The iMic audio adapter has one lead going to a headphone jack and another ending in a usb connector. Normally, the usb connector goes into the computer and the jack into the speakers (or in this case a Sony tabletop radio.)

My keyboard is an older Apple keyboard purchased when Panther Macs first came out (not the aluminum, but does have two usb ports.)

The mouse is usb.
The monitor is using dvi.

Is there any way to connect the Belkin KVM switch and still use the Sony tabletop as my speakers (with or without the iMic)?

MacMini, Mac OS X (10.5.4), 2.0 Ghz Intel

Well, aside from the lovely advice and help I've gotten here at this forum, the whole affair has turned into soured bean dip.

I spent an hour hooking up the Belkin according to their instructions (except for the last bit) and it didn't work.

Hooked up monitor, keyboard, mouse, 'speakers'. Made sure everything was snug. Attached power and turned it on. Turned on the main computer (Leopard). At this point they say the monitor should be off and to check to make sure Belkin KVM is recognizing your system. How one is to do that is interesting as one needs the monitor on to see how well the keyboard, mouse, ect is working? (I ended up trying it both ways.)

The power light came on on the Belkin and I could hear my Mac introducing itself to the world and humming away. But either way, (monitor starting off or on) the monitor picture was not receiving a signal. I re-checked all the connections and the instructions. Powered it all on again. Still no video feed. Turned off Mac yet again and put the second cable on the Panther just in case this meant something magical in the tech universe. Turned back on and...nothing. I even tried using the remote during each test in case the Belkin was thinking the Panther was the main computer and not the Leopard. Still blind as a bat.

This time I'm not even going to bother repackaging the thing when I return it. Just stuffing it in a bag with the plastic box. 😟

Going to ask about a workable kvm for MacMini's, but will do it on a new thread so others won't have to wade through all this unless they want to.

Unfortunately, my brother got the monitors from Ebay back in 2004 and didn't print out the paperwork for them. I'd have to unplug and move a lot of things to get to the back of it. It's a 2004 Princeton, though, with both a vga and a dvi, but I always preferred dvi to vga. (Though I have noticed that all of today's tv's sold in the local stores come with only vga or hdmi. sighs

It's still strange to me to think of four years old as being ancient for a piece of gadgetry. I had pieces from childhood that didn't conk out until college. Transistor radio would still be working if they didn't stop making the parts. Must be planned obsolescence.
