HI Ric,
You can view crash logs in Console, located in /Applications/Utilities. In the Logs list, user application crashes are located in ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter and system application crashes are located in /Library/Logs/CrashReporter. To locate the crash report, Open Console. To locate just the messages you are interested in, you can search for a word or phrase in a log using the Filter field.
For example, if you are installing software and you get a message that the installation failed, you can locate information about the problem by searching console.log and system.log for the word "install."
To search a log:
Type a word or phrase in the Filter field. The log entries change as you type to display only the entries containing your phrase. Once you locate the log, go to the Menu and click File/Save A Copy As. Open your E-Mail client, "attach" that file and send it to your computer that is online. Now for sending the report to Apple. Since this report is going via the second computer you don't have an e-mail address to send to so, Assuming you have an Apple Developer Connection account (an Online account is free), you can report bugs by logging into the Apple bug reporter at bugreport.apple.com, and entering the crash log there. It's easy to create an Apple Developer account and this way you can send your crash report to Apple.
Carolyn 🙂
