How do I slow down a video clip?

How do I slow down part of a video clip so it is in slow motion.
Also how do I change the sound so that the voices are deeper?

Slo mo can't be done in iMovie 08. You need to use iMovie HD6, a much superior editing suite to the ill named iMovie 08. Same goes for the sound editing, although Garageband may be useful here, but I haven't used that programme.

You have to use software tools outside of iMovie 08 in order to speeed up or slow down video. The sources on the above your post look good to me for iMovie 08.

I use both iMovie 08 and iMovie 06. If I want to speed up or slow down video, I would do it using iMovie 06.

The more powerful iMovie 06 has these capabilities built right in to the program and I think you'll find it an easier way to go.
