USB Modem Huawei E172

I recently bought an E172 USB Modem through Vodafone in Germany and am unable to achieve the correct setup for my Powerbook running Tiger 10.4.8. Ive downloaded the latest software from Vodafone but still without luck. I get as far as the modem attempting to connect and after a short while disconnects. Can someone assist me to achieve the correct network settings? (Vodafone Germany are useless in this case)

Hi, and a warm welcome to the forums! 🙂

Does this Modem have the right tone/frequency for your area, I seem to recall Europe having a few incompatable ones?

Is it on an Anolog or Digital line?

Is there a setting on that Modem SW/CP, maybe under PPP Options, to turn ON/OFF TCP Header Compression, or use Verbose Logging?

Have you used Console in Utilities to view the PPP log for clues after attempting a dial?
