I have rules that move mail into sub-folders under my inbox, it would seem that these messages are not included in the message badge as new. Does this mean I am going to have to delete all of my rules and sort them manually? This isn't really going to work for me. I hope there is a workaround.
iPhone 4GB,
Windows XP Pro,
iPod Video 30GB, Black
I would like to know for sure that this is a limitation of Apples implementation of their ActiveSync client rather than a limitation of Microsofts ActiveSync protocol before sending off a missive to Apple. Can anyone confirm or debunk the theory that this is a problem with Apples implementaion? I'm amazed that there is not more backlash regarding this issue.
i can confirm that this issue of Exchange Inbox Sub-folders not sycing is all apple i have made comments on this topic , we should all continue to register our dissatisfaction , i am giving this 4 more week to see if its is fixed otherwise its back to HTC phone that i know works , this is the great apple marketing con for people and companies using Exchange
i purchased the iphone 3g saturday, its going back this friday. ive already re-set the phone and packed it up. there is no way an enterprise could run efficently with not having updated subfolders.
further it takes all of the contacts folders and bunches them into one LARGE repetative contact list on the iphone.
To bad because myself and several associates were looking forward to the change from winmo
+The iPhones lack of ability to sync subfolders via ActiveSync is very frustrating for many people who want to take the next step and use the iPhone as a true Enterprise level device. I love my iPhone in my personal life but the lack of this feature forces me to continue to carry a Blackberry along side my iPhone when I am on call at work. Please add the ability to receive push notifications and sync from subfolders. I can hardly wait for for my iPhone to again reduce the number of devices I have to carry with me by one.+
Done, over and over again. I know Apple don't reply to these suggestions but hey, an acknowledgement that these are issues they will fix rather than keep us hanging would be courteous!
your right its not a business tool its just a ipod with basic phone functions and last night i downloaded the latest software and guess what !!!!! sitll no support for sycing Exchange Inbox Sub-folders,or spell check so its good bye Iphone hello HTC diamond , a real business tool . so good luck to all worth your ipod phone
Yep. Not there yet. However, once these issues with the Exchange sync are taken care of we will switch to iPhones. Reason being the interface makes the device much more approachable for non-technical users. Also, there are many medical apps that will be of use to our physicians and the extra screen real-estate helps. So, not quite ready for prime time but once it is, we will be there.
From another potential large customer (also in the medical field), our CEO was very interested in these devices.. subfolder syncing and other enterprise features he was used to with his blackberry prevented a potentially mass roll-out though. In my opinion, Apple really dropped the ball here. How hard can it be to match features that WinMo 6 has?
anyone know if the new 2.1 update fixed the active synch issue?
also there was a post on here about using apps for a physcian. everythign i have read shows the apps cannot use any of the available memory in the phone, no local data storage. can anoyone confirm?
Well, after hoping that 2.1 might fix this, I loaded it up, and was once again disappointed.
Apple, if you are listening, this problem NEEDS to be fixed!! It is absolutely ridiculous that we have to go in and
manually check sub folders. If they can't be pushed, then at least put them on the fetch schedule! Having to go through and click on all of my little sub folders at various points throughout the day is really not the way an "enterprise" email device should function.
Sigh.
Off to fill out the feedback form. AGAIN. I think I'm going to start filling it out every week. Maybe they'll get tired of seeing my messages come through and fix the problem...
