Ditto. I just completed my first set of syncs to see if 7.7.1 fixes the Outlook calendar sync problem. At this point I'm cautiously optimistic that it does, although I'll continue testing various forms of calendar entries today to confirm it's reliability. But what's clear is a) Apple recognized the Outlook sync problem, and b) has at least attempted to fix it as part of 7.7.1. If they actually got the fix right...life will be oh so much better. Back to testing...

I have the same issue. My phone which was sync-ing perfectly now fails to sync my Outlook 2007 Contacts and Schedule after "upgrading" to 7.7 iTunes and 2.0 iPhone. The phone and iTunes claim (the VERY slow) sync is happening. But there are no updates posted to the phone.

I restored the phone (twice), I've re-accepted all Outlook meetings, I can't think what else to try. Can I get back to the first version of firmware smoehow? Any suggestions would be welcome.

This upgrade expereince has been like what I have to put up with on Vista, I really expected much more from Apple.

Hi All

Thanks for the news on the itunes update. COuld anyone advise whether if I install the update:

1) Appointments from my iPhone will now sync with Outlook and be displayed in outlook without having to reoccur them?

2) I will be able to see all my appointments in day view?

3) Appointments will not disappear/be removed from outlook when I connect the phone (which has been the biggest pain to date)

Help!!

I never had trouble syncing the items (as others have had) except I suffered from the problems you have in points 1 and 2. My items were never removed but they did disappear in the most useful views.

I can confirm that 7.7.1 has NOT fixed this for me - however my solution listed somewhere above still does work - I simply turned OFF cached Exchange mode in Outlook.

I'd prefer it ON but the problems still arise the same as for version 7.7.

Prior to the upgrade to 2.0 my Outlook Calendar synced perfectly with my Ipod Touch. After the upgrade the sync would appear to be occurring but afterward the information on the Ipod would be incorrect and for the most part just recurring meetings and some of them had been previously deleted. I could not create an entry on the Ipod and have it synced to Outlook or vice versa.

I had tried some of the suggestions on this message board with no success until last night. Caution, this method overwrites all entries from Outlook to the IPod so any entries only existing on the IPod will be deleted!

1) I upgraded to 7.7.1.11
2) Restarted my pc
3) Launched ITunes and connected my IPod Touch
4) Selected the Info Tab
5) Selected Synch Calendars with Outlook
6) Further down the page under Advanced, selected Replace information on this IPod – Calendars (Not contacts, mail accounts, etc.)
7) Under Edit – Preferences selected Syncing, Reset Sync History, then OK
8) Then I performed the sync. Caution, this pushes all entries in Outlook to the IPod so any entries only existing on the IPod will be deleted!

After about 10 minutes (I have many calendar entries) my Outlook entries were on my IPod Touch. For the first time in my Outlook folder list I had both the normal “Calendar" icon but also a “Home" calendar sub folder icon underneath it when I am in the Folder List view. My “real’ appointments are in the “Calendar” folder and some older recurring appointments are in the “Home” calendar. When I add appointments now on either the Ipod or in the Outlook “Calendar” they sync in about 1-2 minutes in either direction. Recurring and non-recurring appointments are syncing properly.

I am syncing through the USB cable.

I am again disappointed in Apple. I installed the 7.7.1.11 update to iTunes, added a new non-recurring appointment to iPhone 2.0, synced, and again found that the sync failed. I then added a recurring appointment to iPhone 2.0, synced, and again the sync failed to transfer the appointment(s) to outlook.

I have disabled exchange views, reset sync history, and still the software fails.

Does anyone have any new ideas?

Like everyone else here, I too am experiencing issues with syncing my Outlook 2007 Calendar to my iPhone (ver 1).

I think the problem began with iTunes version 7.7. my old calendar entries are still in tact, but any new calendar entries from Outlook do not propagate to the iphone even after telling iTunes to replace my calendar info on the iPhone.

When can we expect a solution? I've tried one of the recommend fixes of de-installing iTunes and the Apple Mobile Manager and have re-installed, with no change behavior. Also have reset sync history, still no change.

When can we expect a solution that restores what I consider to be a critical feature of the iPhone?

Since upgrading to 7.7.1 my problems with syncing have disappeared.

Before 7.7.1 was released I tried every other solution listed on in this thread and none of them worked and I'm beginning to wonder if people, in their haste to be helpful, were just making solutions up...and never really tested them.

If you are having problems syncing, speak to Apple directly or simply download iTunes 7.7.1, reset you iPhone, and resync it as a NEW phone (i.e. don't restore it...actually activate it as a new phone.) Following the suggestions listed in this thread will only frustrate you and unnecessarily put your computer through the ringer.

Honestly, I'm leary to try 7.7.1. The only thing that has made anything work for me has been the suggestions on this board (the pain in the * recurring events was the only thing that worked). And this only worked after 2 hours with Apple Care and then finding these boards. Apple Care gave up on it. I'm going to keep waiting and looking at the feedback before doing the new upgrade.

I may have an observation that will help.

Upgrading to iTunes 7.7.1 had no effect on my system - calendar events entered on iPhone 2.0 did not show up in day/week/month view on outlook.

Then, I noticed that I had a utility program running called Instaback Version 1 that made a realtime backup copy of outlook each time it was modified. When I removed Outlook from the Instaback realtime backup list, VOILA! the calendar events entered on the iPhone now show up in D/W/M view in Outlook. I then deleted Instaback 1.0 completely. Sync continues to work fine.

PCMAG has a new version of Instaback (2.0) for your pleasure.

Bottom line: With Outlook removed from realtime backup lists, the sync now works in both directions.

Good luck.

iPhone will not sync to Outlook 2007 after 2.0 & iTunes 7.7 update!
