iPhone will not sync to Outlook 2007 after 2.0 & iTunes 7.7 update!

I've searched for answers everywhere and have found nothing! It shows thats it's syncing my contacts and calender but when I open Outlook nothing has changed. Please help!

BTW...it was the official 2.0 update!

Well, it worked for me. It didn't restore my old appointments in the day/week/month view on Outlook, but the new appt's that I enter in iPhone appear no problem, like before.

I know that there are many different issues being presented regarding Outlook calendar syncing in this thread. I am talking about the disappearing appointments in the month view in Outlook; not the syncing problems or the deleted appointment problems.

update seems to be working for me. Syncing takes forever, however. and something has messed up my registry, where my desktop icons are all screwed up. desktop is a little crewed up and I have to reboot to get it to be normal again.

at first i did not have success with the update, then i notice a second "home" calender was created in Outlook 2007 and my new entries created on iphone were going there. I moved them over to the "calender" and unchecked it so it doesn't show in the month view and made sure iphone syncs to the "calender", reset sync history again and it all seems to be working (except the desktop, reistry issue)

I reloaded my whole system this weekend due to extreme sluggishness after trying to work through all of these iTunes issues. I re-installed Vista from scratch and set up my whole system (except iTunes) and all was working just fine and very fast. I then installed iTunes 7.7.1.11 only to find the system significantly slowing down again. The inital sync with a clean iPhone took about 40 minutes to sync contacts, calendar and bookmarks. But now I am seeing Outlook 2007 running significantly slower again.

Is anyone else noticing problems with Outlook after installing iTunes 7.7.x? I also get warning when restarting Outlook that the pst file may contain errors and it will slow the system down while fixing this. This is true, but none of these errors exist prior to iTunes 7.7.x.

I upgraded to 7.7.1 and it seems to work for syncing if you make sure you change a couple of things. In iTunes, Info, make sure you are syncing to SELECTED CALENDARS and only your main calendar (should be "Calendar" for Outlook).
I didn't reset anything, just did the upgrade. NOTE: However, if you don't do the SELECTED CALENDARS part, then, for me, the appointments did NOT show up at all (recurring or not)!
It now seems to work. You don't need to make events recurring any more to make them appear. However, the events you do create on the iPodTouch/iPhone come over as a "Meeting Request" (you know that one in Outlook that has the icon of faces together). Not bad, definitely usable, but still not a complete fix.
Thanks for giving us a temporary fix, Apple! 🙂 Hope it improves in the future.

[1] NO MORE REOCCURRING-WORK-AROUND:
iTunes Setup 7.3.1.3.exe apparently got disappearing of calendar events on the Day/Week/Month view in my OL2003 fixed. No more reoccurring-work-around for each event – thank you!

[2] NOTES NOT SYNCING OVER TO IPHONE:
I would like to report an issue with the new iTunes version - that some of the my event notes are not syncing over to the iPhone. I then tried removing the reoccurrence settings, then the notes will show in iPhone, only sometimes.
Eventually I would have to re-create the events afresh from OL2003 and then the notes will sync over to the phone. I really hope this is not a new bug generated by the new fixes.

[3] I STILL LOVE THIS PHONE.
Bottom Line is, this is still the best phone I have ever used, albeit the problems (pretty serious since it is our calendar), but I deeply believe the Apple is working very hard to fix these problems since their reputation is on the spot. At this time I am still carrying my HTC TyTN, just for the calendar.

I have, and No it did not fix my syncing problems.

I've since performed a "Reset All Settings" on the iPhone... No Fix.
I've uninstalled iTunes and the Apple Mobile Device Support (and re-installed)... No Fix.

I've cleaned up my Outlook calendar's recurring appts that have a blank on the end date and made sure the "No End Date" radial button was selected... No Fix.

I've been able to successfully sync with my home pc and outlook, but something broke on my work PC with the installation of iTunes 7.7.1

I'm about to Erase All Content and Settings and start from scratch. My co-worker with the 3G iPhone doesn't have these problems.

Here's what worked for me with my work PC; because I'm syncing in a corporate environment with Outlook/Exchange, I followed Aggrajag's suggestion:

+I turned off Cached Exchange Mode and lo and behold - all my missing appointments came right back.+

+To do this go to Tools/Email Accounts/View+Change/Next/Select the correct account/Change/Untick 'Use Cached Exchange Mode'/Next/Finish/Close Outlook+iTunes. Give it 30 seconds to close the datafiles. Restart Outlook.+

When I tried turning it back to cached, the problem (missing appointments) came back.

So, what worked for me, was the upgrades: 7.7.1 iTunes (didn't notice any difference with 2.0.1 for iphone, but still reasonable to upgrade) PLUS the above non-caching of Exchange.

I would like to go back to the standard (cached), but, as this is working, and I see no denigration on performance of anything, it works for me...

(Of course, this has pretty well convinced me to just sync with my home Mac at night and then sync events/contacts via Plaxo during day.)

Update:

Something went haywire since my last posting. Perhaps it was one of the other upgrades (I clicked "yes" to all so far). Unfortunately, my entire calendar was wiped out with the exception of July, August and September. I don't think I can afford to put any more time or frustration into this issue. I've surrendered and accepted the fact that the iphone 3G just doesn't sync with Outlook 2003. Maybe there will be a fix at some point in the future but I can't live life every day wondering if my calander is correct or not (or if I will lose even more information). After spending hours on the phone with Apple (and having them tell me there is nothing they can do to help me at this point) I then spent two more hours on the phone with Microsoft to put my calendar back together. I finally have it working on my PC and I'm at a crossroads. I either need to get a Mac Notebook or get a Blackberry. I can't believe I'm considering giving Apple more business after all the difficulty and frustration I've experienced lately but...this is where I am. For those of you who have been where I'm at right now and made the leap one way or the other...do you care to weigh in with your opinion? Go with the Blackberry or convert to Mac?

iPhone will not sync to Outlook 2007 after 2.0 & iTunes 7.7 update!
