where is the GEO location info?

I am wondering the same thing. I emailed my photos to Flickr and they aren't picking up the geotagging either.

just a guess: is there a preference setting to turn geotagging on which needs to be set?

I have look at this, and have all location info on etc.. but still can not find how and where iphone is storing geo tag information? Help please. How to I find this info?

I noticed in iPhoto if you look at the photo information there is a place for the GPS location imbedded in the photo. I have not been able to check with tagged photos from the iPhone, but I think it should show up there.

Yes, it's in the photo info. On a Mac, you can see it by selecting the photo, then hitting command-I (or right clicking and selecting "Show Photo Info." There are two fields near the bottom for "GPS Latitude" and "GPS Longitude."

Note that this also works on the first gen iPhone -- when I launched the camera, it asked whether Camera could use my current location info, then it tagged the photo I took.

However, I don't know yet how to use this data -- as a previous poster said, Flickr doesn't seem to know where that picture came from. When I view the photo in Flickr, the EXIF info still contains fields named "Latitude" and "Longitude" with the same data as shown in iPhoto, but Flickr can't put the photo in the right place on the map.

Still not working on Flickr, but just noticed that when I look at the info in iPhoto, it (correctly) places me in the Western hemisphere, but in Flickr, the longitude info has the same value, but in the Eastern hemisphere.

Just a guess, but lots of geo programs (like Google Maps) use + and - to indicate east and west. Since I'm in the Western hemisphere, Google says my house is at -71 longitude. Maybe Apple and Flickr don't use the same format?

Also note that if you're emailing photos to flickr from the iPhone, that ALL EXIF data is stripped from the photo, so it won't have any geo info in the file.

Right now, I believe the only way to get the geo info to stay with the file is to import the photo into iphoto, and then upload to flickr. I'm sure this'll get resolved by some 3rd party app.

I took a picture, exported it into iPhoto and the geo info stayed with the picture. But then I exported it to Flickr via FlickrExport 2.0.12 for iPhoto and the geo info was gone.

Hopefully FlickrExport or another plugin will add this functionality.

For me, the geo info stays in the photo info when I upload to Flickr using either the web to upload, or using the FFXporter iPhoto plug-in. However, the E/W is still flipped for me...

MacWorld has a discussion of this problem. I'm still not sure it's an iPhone problem, since the info looks right to me right up until it gets to Flickr. MacWorld suggests that using AirMe to upload to Flickr directly from the phone maintains the geo info correctly -- there's a link in the article, but I haven't tried it yet.

I saw the AirMe references and read about it, but I don't think it's doing it with EXIF, which is really what we need, so it'll work with any service....

Sounds like mobileflickr is stripping the EXIF as well....
