Why OS9 ?

Can someone please explain to me (because my mind is being boggled), why people choose to revert from Mac OS X (which is the best OS I've ever seen), to Mac OS 9?

From my point of view (and please don't kill me, OS 9 users), 9 is not-as-good-looking, doesn't have as much power or software, and is incompatible with anything that came out since it was discontinued. But I may be totally wrong.

So can someone pleeaase explain??

Hmm.. if there was some way to disassemble OS 9, maybe more updates can be made for it to support a wide array of items. Imagine an OS 9.2.3 or 9.2.4? There maybe yet some life in OS 9

Nadav: If the license for OS 9 (and all other Mac OS versions) didn't expressly prohibit what you suggest, you might be right.

Maybe when Steve Jobs steps down, and someone else opens up the code to the outside world, maybe this might happen.

Oh? What benefits did CFM have for you that Mach-O doesn't have? The only advantage CFM has is compatibility with Mac OS 9 and earlier, so you're using circular logic here.

OS 9? Heck, some people are still running DOS 3.3 on Apple IIs!
