Square with dot...

Hi is was wondering, next to the provider name i have a square with a dot in the middle. I have this since the 2.0 update

Can i switch this back to normal? i can not find a way to chance it

Imac, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

What are you trying to change it to? The square with the blue in the middle signifies that you're only connected to a GSM network. No data- EDGE or UMTS(3G).

i have the first iphone and it was always a solid square now after the update it got a dot in the middle

i don't have 3g and i heard the dot means gprs.

my fear is that i will be charged for gprs while not using it
