"Locate me" not working?

It's not working for me either on 2.0.1. Didn't try it on 2.0, but it used to work perfectly on 1.1.4. Location Services turned on (and I toggled them off and on again, just to be sure).

Mine never worked until I registered my home wireless router on skyhook.com. It's been a couple of weeks since I registered, and now it pinpoints me on google maps, and it works with the Yellow Page app. When registering, you have to know your router's Mac address, longitude and latitude, and you just enter your e-mail address. Does anyone know if you can register the Mac address of your ipod touch instead of your router so that it will locate you no matter what wireless network you are connected to?

This makes no scence it worked fine at my house on my access point every time when i was on 1.1.4 but ever since i updated to 2.0 and 2.0.1 it has never worked.
i have never added my mac address to the skyhook server i have went through many routers (many mac address) no one had added my mac address to their server and i only pick up one signal in my home.

i tried at many local places and neighbor connection which have worked before but dont work anymore.
I added my mac address to skyhook hopefully it will work soon.

Please apple fix this i cant use any of my location apps.
I also did a ipod restore.

I have the same thing on my 16 gig, 2.0.1. Worked great under 1.1.4, but no longer 😟

my 8 gb ipod worked with the locate me feature with 2.0, but when it was updated to 2.0.1 it stopped working.

No, that's a good question, but... I do have locate me turned on. Nearby works perfectly and can find my location every time. It may be something in the Google Maps app that's supplied with 2.0. ???

I only tried this a couple of times in 1.1.4 and it worked fine, but since 2.0.1 it hasn't worked for me.

Right now, I'm at a loss for words.

I have the same problem. 2.0.1 software, 32b ipod touch, my mac address is registered with skyhook and has worked in the past, I have locate me switched on but it just doesn't work.

As a note that should be skyhookwireless.com as Skyhook is another ball-game entirely.

I have contacted their support and let them know. I suspect they already know, but a little more info may help us all.

I am having the same problem. Ever since I upgraded to 2.0.1, the Google Maps (or other apps using location like Showtimes) on my iPod Touch 32GB has stopped working. It had worked well when I was still on 1.1.4 and 2.0, now it just keeps spinning and won't even time out. Reboot does not help. Restoring to 2.0 does not help either. I even tried restoring 2.0 and 2.01 in DFU mode and that didn't help either.

I hope Apple can fix this fast. Looks like many others also have the same problem.

I just tried a downgrade to 1.1.4 and it's still not working. The only difference is that now it says "Your location could not be determined". This had worked totally fine previously, prior to 2.0.1 😟

Same thing, worked in 1.1.4, but not in 2.0.1, not a huge deal, but it would be nice if it worked properly.

i think it must be something to do with google, my touch was finding my location in 3sec’s but now it’s not finding my location

I used it on the 9th of Aug successfully, but after that, nothing, and until I reset and restored everything until a short while ago, it still remembered where I was at the last location it found.

The thing is, it doesn't even bring up the spinning / pulsing reticle any more prior to localising so I am thinking that something somewhere has gone very awry.

Is there a fix? Does Apple know or care? I sent them feedback, now I'm thinking of calling or going into the store to speak with the people at the Genius Bar. I would just like it to work again.
