"Locate me" not working?

it's working for me again takes between 3 and 8sec's

Ugh, why does this not work anymore? One of the best features of my Touch and I haven't had it working since firmware 2.0. Tally me for another one who is not locating at all.

Not sure if this helps anyone, I but I tried turning off location services first, then turning my ipod's wi-fi connection off.

I waited about a minute and reversed the steps above and was able to get a reticule to accurately find me on google maps. Not sure if location services was messed up or what. Worth a try if nothing else.

i called apple in cupertino california for help and they suggested me to restore it as a new ipod which resulted pretty uncomfortable for me because it deleted all the notes, contacts, alarms, and everything but keeping the 2.0 update. it improved its operation but still having trouble. the term exposed above was also ought to a frostbite of my ipod for more than 24 hours. i hope it help, though it will show a notable difference after the restorement. you'll probably be forced to keep on restoring it every month i know that ***** but thats the best i could do after trying everything and called apple support.

I know this has absolutely nothing to do with this topic, but does everyone here know the secret about the home button and sleep/wake button being pressed at the same time fast???

I did a clean restore and it hasn't helped. Now, Google maps doesn't show any maps at all. All it says is *no images*.

Where do you find the "locate me" button in order to turn this feature on? (I have an 8 meg I Touch.)

It doesn't work everywhere, try going downtown in a larger city if possible with more than 3 Wifi spots available locked or not and try. If not maybe try restoring.

UPDATE: It is still not working for me. I have reset my router and my cable modem. Nothing has changed. I really hate this since I have other apps that are dependent on Google maps locating me. No word on a fix or anything from Apple, this isn't a widespread problem, therefore, it doesn't exist for Apple only us.
