Apps going back to home screen/iPhone restarting

mine is doing this too...all downloaded apps from the app store open then go straight back to the home screen. They do this repeatedly and have not worked since i downloaded them all yesterday. They better get a patch out soon or i will be returning this phone!!

Me too. Full restore did not help. Erase and re install did not help. Imagine an update will have to be issued.

It's driving me crazy, I'm about to cancel my cellphone plan. Does your iPhone get really warm on the back?

Same here. Only affects App store applications. At first a reboot would fix everything, but that no longer works. However, plan B still works. Delete one of your free applications and re-download it from the App store. It and the other applications become functional again.

I had this problem with the first iPhone I purchased (pre-3G). I scouted the internet and noticed there were tons of people having the same issue and assuming that the software was to blame.

This is a hardware problem and you need to go return your phone for a new one. If it was a problem with the 2.0 software we would all be experiencing it.

Looks like you, and the others who replied, received faulty phones. My phone does not crash at all.

Think it is a different issue. All of the built-in Apps still work fine. It's only the App store applications that are having problems, at least in my case.

I HAVE THE ANSWER!

1. Make sure your apps are in itunes (under the applications icon on the left)
2. Go to store and click on "authorize computer" (apparently 7.7 did not authorize your computer
3. Now, go to your iphone and delete all of the apps off of it (hold down an icon til they shake)
4. Once all of the apps are deleted, re-synch it. The apps will be put back on and will work!

i uninstalled sports tap and reinstalled it and most of them work now, except ebay and iPint. I have reinstalled iPint and they are all working, although it just restarted on its own again, but they were working after that. I am going to reinstall the ebay app now and see if it will work again.

i still think there is some sort of software problem. It should not be this difficult and if it is...then Apple needs to do something about it because it's stupid.
