Typing on 3G iPhone slower than 1st iPhone

Anyone noticed that typing on 3g iPhone has lag now? Even the audible clicks are slower... Not huge issue but noticeable. Wife's new phone same as mine... Anyone else?

Penryn MBP, 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Mac OS X (10.5.4), Leopards ate my personality.

Yep - that's it. Seems to be the system software 2.0 - went to Apple Store last night and played with other iPhone 3Gs and they all did the same thing. It's like when you type the processor sometimes is trying to keep up with rapid typing.

Easiest way to see it is to look at an iPhone (either 3G or 1st Gen) running 2.0 software, versus another iPhone running V1.x.x software and type out a good sized text message. You'll notice the typing on the 1.x.x software is smoother and more accurate.

Then delete by holding down the delete key... you'll hear the clicks on the 2.0 software sound sluggish, while the 1.x.x software buzzes right through the characters without missing a beat.

Jeremy is correct.....I too have had MAJOR slowdown with my original 2G iPhone since upgrading to 2.0 and it is frustrating to say the least. I am no fast TMobile sidekick kind of typist but I still find myself having to retype texts and email more often because the iPhone now cant keep up with my slow typing speed
