All of my Apps stopped working!!!!! worked fine until after I synched
I downloaded about 4 apps from the app store (some free, some not). they were all working just fine initially, but since synching my iPhone none of them are working including the NY Times app, so methinks this ain't just low rent programming.
I"m starting to see this issue in a couple of other posts, so i know i'm not alone. I also tried updating my iPhone software and checking for updates through the app store and neither yields anything.
I tried the uninstall/reinstall method over and over.
Updated itunes and the problem stopped.
Everything seems to work fine now.
A heads up from Apple would've been nice.
make that ALL MY APPS stopped working after my last sync, trying the fix above, also noticed that my custom ringtones went silent, prior to sync iPhone decided it needed the worlds longest backup...
I think the problem is that applications are being pulled from the store, or apps that were originally free are being reclassified as paid, and this is creating aproblem when we try to sync.
Expected behavior is that once I download an app, it's mine and I don't have to upgrade if I don't want to.
I'll add to the heap, if only to increase the urgency to get this fixed.
I've tried everything posted here except a high colonic for my poor phone. I've restored 4 times, threw away my backups, hard reset more times than I can count, uninstalled and reinstalled my apps and still no go. A few still work, but it's spotty and not replicable.
To the post who sees an app in his iTunes but not on his phone, I've had success by manually deselecting the problem app in iTunes and synching, and then reselect it and synch again, which usually causes it to reappear in the phone home screen. As far as whether or not it works is still an iffy proposition.
Solution is to restore your phone as a new iPhone rather than as a backup. And I'd install as few 3rd party apps as possible to delay the time until the glitch hits again and you can't use any 3rd party apps or the iPod.
Others have had success with this when the other fixes listed on these threads do not. It seems hit and miss with these fixes and we are all looking for the one that will work for all. As of yet, it seems that the fix listed in the thread above is working for everyone that has tried it, but we will see as more people give it a try. If anyone has a better solution, please post it. We are all in the dark here.
Please post your results both here and the thread listed above after giving it a try so that we can move in the direction of having this question answered once and for all.
Apple Inc. This is a very serious and very frustrating problem that is totally intolerable in any sense of business forms.
I tried to identify the problem...
=========================================================================
1. iPHONE'S APPSTORE UPDATE ERROR
Problem first started when I tried to get updates from iPhone's Appstore. It says that I am not eligible for the update and would need to buy it at full price (Free and Paid Apps have same results). I even tried buying it but the a messages says the item is being modified and is not available.
2. iTUNES'S APPSTORE UPDATE ERROR
So I tried to update it through iTunes, it says I am not eligible again and need to buy it. It also won't let me buy the app. (Free and Paid Apps the same results)
3. iPHONE'S FREE/PAID APPS WOULD NOT RUN ANYMORE
I tried running some apps I've bought or free from the appstore. They worked before but now after launching the apps, they would close after about 3 seconds and does not work at all. Ugly enough.
4. DELETE APP ON iPHONE, TRY RE-SYNCING FROM iTUNES
After deleting a app on the iPhone, I tried to sync with iTunes to get it reinstalled on the iPhone. The apps still does not run on the iPhone after reinstallation.
5. DELETE APP ON iPHONE, DELETE APP ON iTUNES (COMPUTER), REDOWNLOAD/REBUY, RESYNC TO iPHONE
After deleting the apps on iTunes, I am now allowed to buy/free the apps from the Appstore. After syncing to iPhone. Free apps would now work again! Pay apps work as well BUT YOU WOULD HAVE TO PAY AGAIN SINCE YOU REDOWNLOADED THE APP!!! Also, the app settings are LOST.

CONCLUSIONS
I have made some observations, it appears that the apps on the iPhone and iTunes are NOT PROPERLY AUTHORIZED. I did not make any abnormal changes to my computer or accounts. Even that the apps I've bought or downloaded free exists on iTunes, they are not really authorized and it sends a signal to my iPhone that I am not allowed to run the apps. Resulting in the serious problems. This is explained by why the apps work after you DELETE THEM FROM YOUR COMPUTER, REBUY/FREEDOWNLOAD AGAIN and transferring to the iPhone.
APPLE, DO YOU REALLY WANT US TO BUY THE APPS AGAIN WHILE RUNNING OUT OF PATIENCE? DO YOU WANT US TO LOSE ALL THE APP DATA (Like wine pad, Todo etc.) DO YOU EXPECT US NOT TO GET THE PAID APPS COS WE GET CHARGED AGAIN? (I have verified double charging in purchase history)
