normal ringtones

I don't need my iPhone to sound like crickets, a dog barking or a motorcycle. The choices they offer, imo are lame.

As far as I can tell, the default one is the only moderately normal ringtone. Is there a way to add more normal ringtones. I don't want music-based ringtones, etc, just a different normal one to differentiate my phone from my wife's when it's ringing. I searched the iTunes store but couldn't find anything.

iMac2.4, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

Your best bet would be to find/make your own. You can find phone ring tones on the net and convert them to ringtone files the iphone can read/use. These can be found easily on google, as well as the methods to create your own ringtones (its pretty easy and only needs one extra free program). My person fav. is the ringtone from 24, still waiting for it to actually be Jack Bauer calling me 😉

Edit - And I agree, the stock ringtone selection is quite lame, they don't even have the one from all the commercials on there that seems normal.

Do a search for "apple ringtone" The one from the commercials has been posted here a lot.

You can also search in iTunes for something like "telephone", "sound effects" etc. There are free ones in there someplace.

I also started posting some here: http://vcreations.net/iphone/ but don't think I have anything you want. I really should add the others I have made (do have the Apple Ringtone on my phone and it is nice and loud and normal).
