Onion Skin/Onion Peel in FCP?

Does anyone know if FCP has an onion-skin/onion-peel (not sure which is the correct term) option? I am a student/video editor and I recently made this video

involving two guys in chicken suits shrunk down and placed on top of a barrel. I couldn't find any sort of onion effect (which for those who are unfamiliar, is when advancing to the next frame, the previous frame is still visible, albeit more transparent). Basically, lining up the chickens on the barrel was a maddening game of guess and check that would have taken 10 hours to get right... there has to be an easier way to match one frame to the previous frame.

And it is not as simple as matching the X/Y coordinates... it was that simple in static shots, but for most of it, the camera moves, and therefore the barrel's position moves each frame.

no it doesn't have onionskin. What you want is "motion tracking", that way you don't need to animate every frame by hand. It will "track" the camera motion for you and transfer that to your foreground footage (chickens). After Effects and Shake have good motion tracking, Their is at least one plug-in for FC that will do it. Pretty sure Motion will work too.
