Iphone Apps Not Transferring To Itunes

hey guys,
did a search first!

ok so on my iphone 3g, i installed some apps to it through itunes.
works great.

i then downloaded some apps through the iphone, such as super monkey ball, bomberman, poker, etc.

but when i sync my phone it doesnt sync the apps back to itunes.
it doesnt ask me or anything.

i tried restoring, and what annoys me is that i had to purchase the apps again after the restore.

has anyone got a solution please?

also, showtime crashes, no matter how many times i reinstall it!

thanks.

I was looking forward to this problem getting resolved with 7.7.1, but apps are still not transferring to the iTunes library when I download them on the iphone first. If I download the app through the iTunes store on the PC then when I sync it transfers to the iPhone, but not the other way. I have tried everything from deleting all apps on the iPhone to right clicking the iphone and choosing 'reset all warnings". The status bar at the top of iTunes says that it is copying the app to the library, but it flashes quickly, but the progress bar never moves to gray like it is copying anything and then it is on to the next item to sync. No apps though.

I am not confident of that. I'm not certain that I trust that the backup that iTunes is making is sufficient to put all of my applications back. After all iTunes CLAIMS that is is copying my applications over when I request it to but they never actually come over. So given that, what is the likelihood that the backup will be used properly to restore the phone with all of the untransferred apps in place?

I may give it a shot if I get desperate enough but this whole situation makes me feel very uneasy.

{quote:title=fireteller wrote:}So is it now confirmed that it is safe to do a backup and then restore and the apps that where on the iphone but never transfered to iTunes will be correctly restored, and then I can sync them to iTunes?{quote}

No, I'm not confirming that. I'm simply saying in response to Robert that using the Restore function will delete whatever's on the iphone. So if his apps. haven't been backed up yet and they're no longer avail. on the store, I wouldn't recommend using Restore.

I fixed my sync problem. I had purchased Texas Hold Em from the App Store via the iPhone. When syncing the iPhone with iTunes it would always hang when trying to sync Texas Hold Em. I finally went to iTunes via my laptop - and purchased Texas Hold Em. iTunes was smart enough to know I already bought it and offered to have me download it to my laptop free of charge. This has now fixed my sync problem.

*I have this same problem. Has anybody figured out how to fix it? My apps will not transfer from my phone to the PC - it says "Copying xxxx" but the status bar never fills, and it just moves onto the next app.*

*I had done a restore the other day after updating to 2.0.1. I left my computer while my phone was updating and when I came back my phone was reset and I had to restore from the backup that iTunes had just made. Could this be part of my problem?*

I'm experiencing the same problem as nukem and orion: apps purchased and downloaded directly from my iPhone 3G don't transfer, while apps purchased and downloaded onto my computer do transfer.

I'm curious whether any of this is due to running two iPhones on the same iTunes account.

I have a 1st gen iPhone, which I updated to the 2.0 software a month ago, adding a few free and a few $$ apps.

A few weeks later (when the lines abated at the Apple Store), I bought a 3G Iphone and passed my old phone on to my wife. The phones are synced to two different computers, but both computers are linked to the same iTunes account. Might this have something to do with the problem I'm experiencing? Surely Apple knows that many people use iTunes accounts as family accounts rather than personal accounts?
