Hi,

does anyone know of any sites with samples or examples of good KN presentations. There are plenty of themes around but I would like to see some good presentations in KN

thanks

I'm not sure "good" is the right word... Alan, your presentation is beautiful and sober at the same time. Did you have any difficulty exporting to QuickTime because I'm really having some problems (as others would testify in other threads). Did you use any specific settings causing KN to conserve all your builds?

Michel Hébert in Rimouski (land of Sidney Crosby and Vincent Lecavalier's junior hockey team)

P.S. I may have not chosen the right words 'cause I'm French speaking. Sorry.

Michel ~ Yes. What I was initially missing was this: In the QT export, choose +Playback Uses: Fixed Timing+ and remove the numbers from the timing boxes. It will then default to your own timings.

Yes, see the sequence of screen-shots in this old thread:

P.S. Thanks for the compliments on the presentation. ...But if it doesn't inspire you to actually practice gazing upwards, it's all for naught. Paying attention to the shapes & colors in your *peripheral vision* is an alternative way to put yourself in the same extraordinary and beneficial state.

Re-bonjour Alancito. Sorry for the delay in answering back. I followed your specs in the old thread and the export to QT went very well.
I did run into another problem when I imported the QT file in iMovie and added 3 musical clips and exported everything in DV file format, in order to burn a DVD to would autostart and be playable on a reguler DVD machine connecte to a TV.
In fact, the QT file and the DV file (imgaes and sound) were working fine. The problem occured when I tried to export the iDVD and burn eveything. Each time I tried that, the sound wouldn't follow.
This morning, I met a friend who had another Mac and Roxio's Toast 9. We transferd the DV file and burnt it on DVD correctly.
In any case, thank you very much for your previous advice. It really helped.

As soon as I/We work around this Quicktime issue I will post a sample of my "business" oriented presentation geared toward marketing. QUESTION, how does one upload a Keynote presentation to .Mac for sharing with others? I'd like to upload my presentation for others to see. Do they need to have Keynote installed to see properly or is there some kind of gallery we can show this on?

Sorry for the newbie questions... I've been full of them for years now : )

NEF ~ Here are a couple of suggestions and other readers will likely add more...

One way would be: +Keynote > File > Export... > Images+ tab. Then import those images to an album in iPhoto '08 and publish the album to MobileMe Gallery:

http://www.apple.com/mobileme/features/gallery.html

http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/#iphoto-sharing-9

Another way would be: +Keynote > File > Export... > QuickTime+ tab. Then import that video file to iMovie '08 and publish the video to MobileMe Gallery:

http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/#imovie-sharing-31

...Neither of the above requires the viewer to have installed Keynote ~ only a modern PC/Mac and web browser.

iMovie refused to import the videos.

David ~ If you're having difficulty trying to import to iMovie '08 via: +File > Import Movies...+ instead, simply drag the movie file from the Desktop or Finder to iMovie's lower window (the Event Library). Once there, I believe you can do +File > New Project...+ This will put the movie in the Project Library.

Thanks for the info. It just dawned on me the presentation YOU posted was a movie file...but with all the problems most of us have had on the Quicktime issue I didn't even think to look at the obvious. If I can't make keynote's own Quicktime feature work I may indeed have to make the $99.00 purchase for the screenflow from varasofteware to do the job.

Hope to see additional samples from others here : )

...how are you guys pasting an image here with a link?

NEF ~ The hyperlinked image below was done via this HTML:

If you don't want the image hyperlinked, do this:

<IMG SRC="/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/775/7753961-1.jpg" HR WIDTH=500/><br>

And this _text link_ was done via this HTML:

By the way, the illustrative HTML above was generated via this site:
