unable to update new carrier setting

Same problem here (at least yesterday evening GMT). Using T-Mobile in the Netherlands. Bummer.

Same here, via T-Mobile in the Netherlands. Same error message, no way to get update in, with the same error message. Given the ridiculously bad 2G/3G reception in the part of Amsterdam ⚠ where I live, I was hoping these new carrier settings would up the transmitter volume of the iPhone, since I think the T-Mobile coverage is weaker than they promised. Oh, and by the way, since 2.01 I have no 2G or 3G reception at all. Way to go.

T-mobile, Netherlands, Iphone 3G, new Firmware... same message, same error.
Was also hoping it would improve my 3g reception, cause it's not what I hoped it would be...

Same problem here with Optimus, Portugal. Started after the 2.0.1 update.

The carrier update seams to have gone now. At least for Telia Sonera Sweden.
Now it only says that 2.0.1 is the latest update.

Here in the Netherlands, with T-Mobile, I still get the carrier update... Still doesn't work however.

Something changed. I turned off iTunesHelper via Activity Monitor, and now when I hit update, the carrier settings update does not appear, and iTunes tells me by updating to 2.01 I'm all good to go. Still, I have no idea if this is good news or bad news. Anybody?

For what it's worth, update did work on Switzerland Swisscom subscription.

BUT then... I get the Carrier Update Settings box EVERY TIME I plug in to iTunes now...

I hit cancel, and my connection to Optus comes back to life, and the Syncing of content through iTunes continues as normal.

I'm worried to hit Update, in case it resets the lock back to the original settings of locked to Vodafone...?

It works for the carrier error stops but iTunes didn't ask to update career settings though. Strange , will restore it and see what happened after.

I'm still receiving the error too, but it's not impacting anything as far as I'm aware. I've resolved to sit tight and ignore the issue for now.

I'm confident that this problem will be resolved (and without wrecking the unlock). That being said, I don't think anyone appreciates being kept in the dark. Again it would be helpful if someone from Apple or Optus would signal ack on this problem. A KB Article would also be handy, even if it simply provided a high level explanation and advised patience.

I have this error when I try to update carrier settings too. It used to give me this error when I use other sim card (Hong Kong iphones are unlocked). Now even I use sim card from 3 will also get this error. Apple better fix this soon.

I fixed mine by disabling Itunes Helper from task manager, I did one sync after that, I rebooted my PC, plugged in my iPhone, no error anymore. I did confirm iTunes Helper is running after the reboot...
