A MUST READ FOR UCONNECT USERS**

i have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ uconnect and the new iPhone G3. i thought i had the same pairing issue (it paired fine, but would not connect when making a call).

i soon discovered that that the uconnect system worked fine with the iphone G3, but had a minor volume control issue that is mainly an inconvenience more then anything. not sure if this issue is the same with all uconnect models, however this is want i discovered. with my old phone (Treo 755), i found that when i made a call using uconnect, it would pickup the call as soon as i dialed. i was able to hear the call ringing before the other party picked up. with my iphone, uconnect for some reason will not pickup the call until the other party answers the phone or voicemail picks up. when the call picks up, i find that the car volume is much softer then normal and needs to be turned up .

one other issue i found, i had both my iphone and my treo in the car at the same time. i needed to turn off the bluetooth on my old phone.

my suggestion is that you go back and make a few more test calls. if your iphone paired correctly, you should be given the option to switch between, speaker phone, uconnect, and iphone. switch back to speaker phone until you hear the other party pick up and switch back to uconnect.

hope this helps a few of you.

Add one more to the list. I have a 2008 Caliber, and my Samsung Blade worked perfectly, now the new iPhone, no dice. It will work very rarely and very randomly. I paired it again today and just let it sit there forever, and it eventually turned blue. I made a call. Hooray.
I went back into the car later to go out again, and it would not reconnect for anything. VERY frustrating.

I have a 3 week old 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT-4. Uconnect worked great until I bought iPhone 3G 16gb yesterday. I got it to work for half a minute. This was after15 or 16 attemptes and being on the pfone for 15 minutes before i connected by itself. It paired fine, they recognise each other, but It does not connect. I spent $37,000 for my car and $500 for the **** phone. I really would like to get this to work soon. Guess which one i will return in 15 days if it does not work by then. Every other car it pairs to, Not DODGE. Hurry up please and fix the problem. A lot of returns are in your future I presume.

I have exact same problem with my 2008 Ram 2500.

UConnect tech support told me Friday that their software fix worked for those who'd bought the navigation package, but not for the rest of us who didn't. An earlier call a week ago or so got me a report by the TS guy that it was an Apple problem.

The Apple genius man at the local store in Irvine, CA, knew nothing about the problem.
