Yes, "~" translates to /Users/jdoe/ directory. The only place I've ever seen /home directory is on Sun Solaris. 🙂
The question is, where do we put custom automator scripts in Leopard? In Tiger we had to put them here:
/Library/Applicaiton\ Support/Apple/Automator/Workflows/Applications/Finder/
In Leopard it looks like (*) we're supposed to put them here:
/Library/Automator/
We want
ALL*USERS to have access, so we don't want to put them into any user's home directory (~). So it's one of the first two paths. The first path seems to work - the workflows show up in the Automator contextual menu in Finder. But the actions are not working, so I wanted to first make sure we're putting them in the right place. The second path does not seem to work - they don't show up at all in the Automator contextual menu in Finder.
Where are we supposed to store our custom Automator workflows in Leopard? The URL below doesn't seem to be right.
