Which wireless adapter for my G3 clamshell?

My daughter has a graphite ibook and would like to take it on vacation with her. So that she will be able to have internet access while away, we were thinking that maybe we could add a wireless adapter.

Could anyone tell us if the wireless adapter "After-the-Mac USB Wireless Card for iMac iBook Airport" works well with my graphite clamshell, or should I consider the RokAir wireless USB adapter?

Is there an advantage to having an internal card installed compared to the external adapters?

Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks!

I certainly would prefer the internal original AirPort Card if it were mine. There is nothing dangling off the side of the iBook.

With the "After-the-Mac USB Wireless Card for iMac iBook Airport" or the RokAir wireless USB adapter, you would need to upgrade to Panther (Mac OS X 10.3). They are not compatible with Mac OS X 10.2.

I'm not sure about how well the included drivers work with the iBook. That's one beauty of the original AirPort Card. It will work with any version of the Mac OS and there is no worry about drivers.

For more specific information (including instructions for installing the original AirPort Card in the Graphite iBook) you may want to try posting in the iBook (colors) Forum. You have posted in the iBook G3 (Dual USB) Forum (the forum for the first all-white iBooks).

My suggestion for adding wireless to an ibook is to buy the ASUS 167g USB adapter. It is the cheapest Mac-compatable wireless adapter I know of. I use one with my iBook G3 800 mHz, and it works great. Just make sure the computer you intend to use it on has 10.3 or greater installed.
