Any other way to install itunes without updating comp?

I recently tried to install my itunes. But itunes would not install. It said I had to update my computer. But the problem is windows will not update as when I try to update Windows update gives me an error. My solution is to format my computer and update and installing then but that's my plan B. Is there any other way I can get songs on my ipod without installing itunes or installing itunes without updating my computer? Thanks in advance.

Lyona, how long has it been since you were able to update Windows? (This should be done at least once a month.) How long since you last reformatted and reinstalled on this PC? (Most PCs should do this about once a year... two years at the most-- if it's been longer, you are overdue, anyway.) Do you have any additional information to offer about why you cannot update Windows?

If you can't install iTunes until you update your computer, the greater concern for me is that you're not getting critical updates that protect your computer. For that reason alone, if the only way to install iTunes is to update Windows, and if the only way to update Windows is to reformat and reinstall, then I think you should go ahead and do that. It's a pain, I know, but it should make your PC run better and safer.

But to answer your question directly, no, I know of no away around the error message you're getting to install iTunes without updating Windows.
